Fort Hood army base in Texas was named for Confederate General John Bell Hood who fought against the north at Gettysburg.

In the center of the Pacific Ocean there is a “Great Pacific Garbage Patch” that is twice the size of Texas. It is mostly made of floating plastic garbage that washes into the oceans from beaches, rivers or is dumped by ships including cruise ships.
